Jesper Ek is a "People first" oriented leader with a Scandinavian touch. Jesper has hands-om experience from leading organizations through business turnaround situations & improve profitability double digit year after year.

Engaging and highly appreciated speaker in the field of Leadership and team engagement. Jesper credo is that "nothing begins with results, everything begins with people" and belives in a world where the vast majority of people wake up each morning inspired to go to work, feel safe and valued while they are there, and return home at the end of each day fulfilled by the work they do - feeling that they have contributed to something greater than themselves.

The topic comes from his own experiences of turning around engagement and sales from the reds into the black and Jesper has given presentations at for example London Business School, IFL, Close Chefsnätverket (where he is ranked as one of their top presenters . Close is the leading management network association in Sweden) and at many corporations in Europe and Sweden.

His lecture revolves around his turnaround of a division at Roche Diabets Care where he was the country manager.

When someone is charged with changing an organization the numbers are usually the main focus, sales, cost and if course the result. But result comes last, that why we call it result. And change never starts with the result. As the newly appointed country manager Jesper met a team that lost their motivation and the sales results was at an all time low. Their was nothing wrong with the products or with the strategy itself. The problem was to be found elsewhere. Jesper asked for the mandate to put all spreadsheets and performance measuremnet aside for six months and focus on the people. Together, the team re-discovered their "why" that had been forgotten in the process. Before long the results started showing.

In April 2012 the Swedish team had 22% engagment and 66% disengagement. In May 2013, just a year later the engagement was at 75% and disengagment was down to 0%.

With the same people in the team selling the same products but sharing a common WHY of enabling for people to live their lives as unrestricted as possible, the team has turned the sales that had been dropping year by year since 2006 to a double digit growth in 2013 and the operating profit has increased by more than +85% vs expected when Jesper started in April 2012.
